Let Ann Show You How!

That’s pretty much exactly how I felt drawing this Pretty in Pink project and I really can’t wait for you to feel the same thing!

I’ll guide you through each of the 9 steps of this Jumpstart tutorial, showing you exactly how I created pencil powder for that soft background, and how I handled the sparkly confetti, and how I made my colored pencils glide across the drawing paper to make those shiny ribbons and bow.

It was all so much fun. You deserve to have a little fun, too!

Just 15 Prismacolor pencils, a sheet of Stonehenge paper and a few household items and you’re ready to turn flat into round, and white into pink and sparkly!

Rocket your way through the novice stage with the Jumpstart Jetpack

The perfect addition to this Jumpstart lesson, the Jetpack Handbook is your secret weapon for getting started with colored pencils. Ann remembers feeling so frustrated and insecure when she first started drawing with colored pencil because there was so much she didn't know. If only there had been a basic colored pencil handbook that caught her up to speed quickly.

That's what the Jumpstart Jetpack Handbook is! It covers all the basics you need to know about pencils, drawing papers, impressed line, blending, burnishing and so much more.  Add it to your order to get even more value out of this step by step project.

Bonus: Download exclusive video tutorials for FREE when you purchase the Jetpack Handbook with any lesson.

A good tutorial despite disappointments

Overall I enjoyed this tutorial and learned from it. However, some steps were missing eg colouring in of the bow curls is not covered in Step 3 even though the next step photo shows them coloured in. I guessed that they should be coloured with Deco Pink. Also on the Materials page it says Faber-Castell Polychromos which I own, but the colours listed are actually Prismacolor (which I don’t have), although I think the description of the tutorial on the website stated that it used Prismacolor. But having the little swatches of colour on the Materials page was useful as I could match my Faber-Castell colours to those. As well as the omissions in the text there were also a number of pages with duplicated text which was frustrating. I expect purchased tutorials to have been checked more thoroughly than this one appeared to have been. But despite these niggles I enjoyed the step-by-step format of the tutorial, learned from it and was pleased with my attempt at following it. I would certainly try another one and would recommend these tutorials to others.

Ann Kullberg

Hi Marcia, Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your review - we truly appreciate the feedback and definitely want the tutorial to be updated accordingly! Please note, for step 3, the instructions do list which color to use on the curls of the bow (Rosy Beige, 1VS) in the third to last sentence on page 8. You did such a great job completing the project! Very happy to hear you enjoyed it. And we can't thank you enough for letting us know how we can improve this tutorial. Happy Coloring, Marcia! Best Wishes, Priscilla Summers annkullberg.com
