Amy presented the Grisaille method in a breakout step by step method. Her instructions are very easy to follow. I appreciate that she both analyizes her work as she goes along and makes corrections and adjustments. The online format allows critiques during the breaks.I want more experience with tonal paper so I ordered Amy's CP Surfaces book from which this class is based.I am excited to carry the concepts of Grisaille over tonal paper into the piece that I am painting for the CPSA Int'l Show. Kudos to all of the support that goes on behind the scenes to bring these Master Classes to the CP community. Thanks!
Great class for learning the process of working on colored paper. Amy was very easy to follow and explained and illustrated the process very clearly. We were supplied with a lot of important information about Hue, Value, and Intensity of pencils. Hopefully she will have another portrait class.
I really enjoyed this class and the teacher. I learned so much and would definitely sign up for another portrait class with Amy. The class was long but the short 10 minute breaks helped with catching up if needed. Thank you for providing a wonderful learning experience!!
Wonderful teacher and subject This was my first colored pencil class. I found it exciting and challenging to learn to draw a child’s face with flower ornaments.Amy does a great job explaining and demonstrating and is very responsive to student questions
Amy is such a great teacher, and this method of rendering skin tones over the felt gray Canson Mi-Tientes base is magical! Just last night I was drooling over Hans Holbein portraits and those luscious skin tones that felt personally so out of reach. This class helped me to think with how they can be achieved with colored pencil. It takes great technique, great patience and a great desire to help others improve to make a successful workshop, and Amy's got all of that. TOTALLY recommend this workshop, and any that Amy teaches. Kudos to the Kullberg team for making stellar use of Amy's massive skills!
