Jumpstart Level 1: Ripe Tomato in Colored Pencil

As usual, these tutorials are good. I've done one other Jumpstart tutorial when first beginning, and this one I purchased for teaching my very first coloured pencil class earlier this afternoon.I made sure to go through it step-by-step yesterday in preparation and so I could understand the flow. After 30 minutes in today, all of my students that had previous art experience mentioned the same thing: that it seemed to jump around a lot, and that would also be my concensus. We would begin one area and by the time we would come around back to that area, they would forget what we discussed previously.Most artists, myself included, have a specific way of working, and we all felt it would have been much more helpful to have addressed sections at a time instead of individual colour lay-down. First we did this colour, then we skipped and jumped to that colour, then we came back to this...etc.Finally near the end, I just had to deviate from the tutorial and take them through these various sections and goals. First we did the tomato base coat. Once that was finished, we focused on darkening near the edges while we discussed shadows. Next I took them through the highlights and how to blend, then I finished off with the leaves. The colours we needed to use were clear and worked well, it was just the method of presentation that didn't seem to work for my students.I would love to see more tutorials offered for INSTRUCTORS, because this one, while for beginners, was still too lengthy for just a simple two-hour class.

This was an easy and enjoyable tutorial. Will do more for sure.

This is my first project with color pencil and I have learned a lotVery good to follow tutorial, not to complicated, really understandable and not to big project for a beginner, even for me because Englisch is difficult for me to read It gives me a boost to go futher with other Jumpstarts,.... Have made a mistacke with a color but I'm very happy with the resultI can wait to do the next one
