Colored Pencil with Scratchboard is Mixed Media Magic!

There are so many possibilities when combining these two mediums. Scott will teach you the basics of scratchboard as well as how to make this black and white medium come to life using colored pencils.

Pajama classes are better than books, better than tutorials and tons better than endlessly watching youtube videos. Pajama Classes are live. You can ask questions. You get answers! And feedback! Wow! It’s almost like a real live workshop, only without having to pack and unpack all your supplies.

About Scott Krohn: Scott loves working in the mediums of scratchboard and colored pencil. He enjoys sharing his passion for art in his teaching of high school art and workshops. He is an award winning artist and continues to show his artwork in exhibitions around the globe.

What can I say about Scott that I haven't said before. He is one of my favorites teachers you have and I appreciate his ability to be very concise and clear during instruction. He is well organized and prepared. I think the many years of teaching has helped him to be a consumate colored pencil teacher. I also appreciate how down to earth he is and open. I learned a lot . . .

I enjoyed this class a lot. This was my first experience with scratchboard which is why I chose the class - I like to try different things in art. There is a lot to learn and at first, the technique was a little daunting. But after the first hour I felt much more comfortable and got "in the zone." My only suggestion would be to have a class for beginners like me that just focused on a black and white rendering so one could get really comfortable with the technique. Then add color as an "intermediate" class. Scott is a very good teacher -- even on Zoom. His explanations were very clear and I am looking forward to his feed back on my project which I did not finish. I want to read his feedback before I put the finishing touches on it. His background as a high school art teacher is evident and an asset. Thanks for a great class.

Who needs meditation? Do Scratchboard!

What a unique experience! I have never done scratchboard and at first thought I'd gotten myself into something I couldn't even think with! Very soon the soothing motion, gentle scratching action and the revealing of forms got to me. Scott as ever is a master teacher, and I ALWAYS enjoy his workshops.
