Tier 2: Colored Pencil Portraits - Tammy Continuation

Ann is the best teacher! As a beginning colored pencil artist, I found it really helpful to be able to have some extra guidance as I learned portrait techniques. Ann is fun and has a great sense of humor. Her material was organized and clear, and she had great answers to any questions the other students or I had. She was also very encouraging, even when pointing out areas that needed improvement. The instant feedback during the process of my portrait was greatly helpful. It was such a fun and relaxing workshop, and I would highly recommend taking a class by her! :)

This was an overall fabulous fun experience. I was told that if I ever got a chance to take Ann's class DO IT! The only good that has come out of Corona virus is that she put this class on via Zoom. I LOVED the experience and learned so much. She is an excellent teacher and the class flew by. I was sorry to see it come to an end but look forward to trying it with other artists on her site and will look for more from Ann. I absolutely LOVED the on line experience.

FANTASTIC! I met Ann over 8 years ago and knew from just seeing what the students in that class in SC that I had to take a class from her. LOL, but 8 years was a bit long. I was really impressed how she handled such a skilled type class on the internet. As a beginner I feel I was a very lucky person to be able to take from such a highly skilled teacher. Will I do it again, definite YES! Only this time it won't be 8 years. I encourage any level of color pencil artist to take from Ann you will definitely learn so much and quickly too.

I was looking forward to attending a 5 day session with Ann, but coronavirus ended that access. So. I decided to attend the three day “Tammy” workshop. I am glad I did. It provided just the tune-up I needed to get me back into creating portraits. Ann is an excellent teacher and coach. Her approach is so accessible and her feedback is specific and well worded. I was delighted to find that her methods have retained their consistency over the years. ( I was a student of hers back in 1999.) That consistency allowed me to build on skills I’d learned earlier. The Zoom format actually worked really well, as there were all levels of experience in the class. Zoom allowed for an up close view of the demonstrations that you would not necessarily get in person. One could work at their own pace but found that it was easy to keep up! I highly recommend this workshop. It is an excellent introduction to Ann’s style and if you are new to creating believable skin tones in colored pencil, you will leave this workshop with this skill in your pocket.
