In today’s internet soaked world, artwork is very accessible. But seeing a piece here and a piece there is not the same as embracing and immersing in an artist’s body of work.

There is a reason retrospectives exist. And when it occurred to us that there were no retrospectives of colored pencil artists, we knew we had to make it happen. It is another marvelous milestone in the path of the once lowly colored pencil and Julie Podstolski's work is a worthy place to begin this new series.

Sublime; Julie Podstolski-A Retrospective

Unfortunately only a digital download version was available for me, here in the UK. I would love a print version. This however didn't spoil my view of this fantastic artist who clearly knows how to use colored pencils. Julie is at the top of the colored pencil tree. Brilliant More of these please Alan Casey

Getting to know Julie

I feel I know Julie and her art so much better. It was so enjoying to read and see about the progression of her art over the years. I never knew she painted before she used colored pencils! For as long as I've enjoyed seeing her art I've loved how she brings a whole other world to the viewer. Of course, her geisha's are stunning. You feel like you are along for a stroll with them and somehow invited into a moment of their life. I particularly loved the story about the dog with sunglasses and hat. (Sorry. That's the only hint I will give you. You just need to read the book!) Her birds are a favorite for me, too! I've always been amazed at her technique and handling of the out of focus work! It was fun to have some insight about when she started these works. I recommend this book so much. You will be inspired by both the art and her story. Jan Fagan

Wonderull, Inspiring book

I love the way this book was set up into the sections that took me on a journey with Julies work. Her progression in subject and style. And mostly I love Julie's work, unique and inspiring!

Nice! Would love details.

I would definitely love to see detailed information on how to combine colored pencils and oil pastels! I have been wanting to learn more about Julie’s style for quite some time as I read her blog repeatedly!
