I am a colored pencil beginner. Several months ago I attended Ann's Portrait workshop and got very interested in getting more practice on skin tones. This project kit has been helpful so far...we shall see how close I get to the look I want when I complete it :) Just a couple of suggestions - The Stroke key in the project lists V=vertical, SC=scribble, and L=linear. However, in the actual instructions use LS???? I assumed this was supposed to be linear scribble, but that is just a guess. Also the instructions refer to Demo 1A which is not labelled on the picture. For a beginner like me, it is confusing when I have to try to figure out things like this. Maybe the kit is meant for a more advanced color penciler? But I still would recommend this project kit for more practice on skin tones.
Gives you a taster of layering and coloured pencil use. Further studies will make more sense after doing this project.
I have been unable to open the skin tone colored project kit. I saved it as a PDF but no luck. Start taking a portrait class tomorrow and would like to have access to it. $11,00 is no big deal but it sits in my computer instead of my head. Help./
I have not tried it yet, I am in the middle of another project. But I will try it next. I have looked it over and find it easy to follow. I have had other projects from Ann and like them. My biggest problem is practicing enough to understand the pressure guide, but I think that takes practice on my part. It would be great to have instructions or projects for the Icauras Board.
I liked the direction to it because it was very detailed instructions. What I did not like is that every thing else like the paper and CD cost extra. The kit would be better if it include every thing with no extra charge.
