Nice but not great

This was a bit disappointing to be honest. I love Kullbergs works and I have her portrait book among others. Some of the details were missing or just not quite clear. The most significant thing was the final skin coloring. The photo show a mixed race beautiful child but the sample drawing is very red. I added a lot more darks and it more closely resembled the photo.

Great learning experience.

This was my first attempt at painting with coloured pencil. I appreciated the in-depth, clear and easy to understand instructions given in this tutorial - and thoroughly enjoyed watching the portrait appear, layer by later. I did not have the paper mentioned in the materials list to use, so used white Canson Mi-teintes paper, which added texture rather than the smoothness the recommended paper would have given. But while I did not get the result of an experienced colour pencil Artist, I have been encouraged by my first effort, and look forward to further projects - and using the new skills gained for attempting to draw portraits for those I love. Fun, relaxing process. Highly recommend! Thanks heaps Ann Kullberg!
