I have never been disappointed with any of the tutorials I have purchased. I have long been a fan of Carrie Lewis and was happy to see her in depth tutorial available here. I have just started but I am pretty sure I will be pleased with the final result.
I have only done the line drawing so fast but it is as well written as the several other tutorials I have bought.
I did it twice and didn't get any better. I was disappointed because I have been so pleased with other tutorials. My main problem was the many steps that essentially kept repeating the same colors. There are 20 steps for the background and 12 steps for the horses that got smaller and smaller as the endless background steps encroached on them. The result was way too much color build up even though I tried to be very light. Also, I did not find the drawing of the background helpful. I realize one doesn't draw every detail, but I found it especially difficult figuring out the placement of colors in the foreground trees. The shown end product is lovely, but I couldn't even get close to it. Maybe some steps could be consolidated.
I have only looked at the booklet at this point and haven't had a chance to try the ideas as yet. I like the way the book is written. Very concise and lots of details. Thanks.
I haven't started yet, but I am excited about it! I even got some new pencils!
