COLOR Magazine is searching for it's next Editor in Chief to help shape the next chapter of the longest standing monthly publication dedicated to colored pencil art.
This is a remote, paid, part-time position requiring a time commitment of approximately 40 hours per month.

Job Description: COLOR Magazine Editor in Chief
Do you love art, storytelling, and creative communities? Are you energized by fresh ideas, connecting with artists, and helping produce a publication that inspires thousands of readers? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
COLOR is a monthly magazine devoted entirely to the art of colored pencil. For 27 years, we’ve celebrated artists of all skill levels through inspiring articles, step-by-step demonstrations, interviews, and beautiful artwork from around the world.
We’re looking for a new Editor-in-Chief to join our small team and help lead the magazine into its next chapter.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who combines creativity with organization—someone who can bring fresh ideas to the magazine while also helping keep a monthly publication running smoothly.
This is a collaborative, genuinely part-time role. The Editor-in-Chief will work in tandem with our Managing Editor, Bleuie, who acquires and curates and coordinates roughly half of the magazine’s content, as well as a copy editor, designer and marketing team.

- Creative, imaginative, and full of fresh ideas.
- Passionate about colored pencil art, storytelling, and creative communities.
- Highly organized and dependable.
- Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple moving pieces.
- An outstanding communicator who enjoys working with artists.
- Skilled at connecting with people and building lasting professional relationships.
- Able to offer clear, constructive feedback in a kind and encouraging way.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while also collaborating closely with a small remote team.
- Adaptable and able to roll with changes when plans or deadlines shift.
- Familiarity with colored pencil art or the fine art world is a strong plus, but genuine enthusiasm for learning is just as important.
