Reference Photo & Line Drawing to transfer
Highly detailed instructions for every step, including the pressure you should use, how sharp a point to use, etc
Emphasis on the why of the particular technique, rather than just the "what", which is by far the best kind of instruction. You'll find no clearer or more thorough colored pencil instruction online.
Note: Stonehenge drawing paper not included. (Order pre-cut sheets from the Extras tab above)
I was very excited to begin this tutorial. I've been drawing in colored pencil for some months now, so I felt I could easily handle this. I found the instruction for the background to be unclear and NOT "in-depth" enough. Not enough explanation on how the do the layers. How many layers for each color? etc. Very frustrating as I had never done this type of background. It ended up looking horrible and I pitched it. Very frustrated.
I'm just getting started on it. Drawing it out today and tomorrow. I had to order some paper first. Took a little time to get. I really like the instructions. Im excited to get to work on it.
I really have not started it yet but I know it is a wonderful tutorial as I have read it and looked at it several times. Just have to find the right time to do it. Too many projects to do and don’t know where to start.
I love the detail of your instructions. I have not started using the product as of yet. I am currently working on a commissioned portrait. Will send you an update on the swallowtail. Love all your instructional books.
