Then he'll show you how to take it all one step further with the addition of colored pencils.

About Scott: Scott has been teaching art for more than 25 years and has exhibited his work nationally and internationally. His work has won numerous awards including the CPSA International Exhibition CIPPY Award for Best of Show.

Each short, focused class is a mere 60 to 90 minutes, but you'll learn lessons you can use for a lifetime. Small projects or single topics that deserve a bit of delving into, Jelly Beans will enhance your skill set and knowledge base in a fun, quick fashion, all from the comfort of your own home. Scheduled on both weekdays and weekends, we hope to accommodate every schedule.

What you need to know:

You'll receive an email with a link to download a PDF and Zoom instructions, as well as a link to the classroom.
On the day of the workshop, just before class begins, click on the link to enter the classroom.
As Scott leads the workshop, you'll get to ask questions.

Scratchboard + Colored Pencil

The scratchboard info was very good. But, I was disappointed that the use of color was minimal, perhaps only 10% of entire video. I have been well acquainted with scratchboard art and I love it. So, that info was good as a refresher for me, but most especially good for those who have never done it. My primary purpose to take this course was to see more of a demo using colored pencils. I just felt it was not given enough attention. Of course, I appreciate all info that was given, but wished for a bit more detail. I am fairly new to colored pencils, love them, but realize they have their special attributes, abilities, limitations, considerations of surface vs type of pencil, blending, layers, etc. So, I am still in need of a bit more guidance and demo.

I didn't know about scratchboards and was really interested about the class. Such a great class. Learned a lot about the many tools that can be used on scratchboards. Scott was a great teacher and I hope I can attend one us other classes.

This was exactly what I wanted - an explanation of what scratchboard is, what the materials and tools are that are needed or are helpful, and a demonstration of how to use those materials, with tips and techniques included. Very well done and Scott was clearly an expert on this medium.
