Learn how to work on black paper, how to create vibrant colors on a dark background, and how to capture the reflective nature of glass.

A dark background adds drama to a still-life, and by using black paper the background is already completed! Glass objects absolutely sparkle on sanded black paper. You'll have fun creating these colorful antique bottles with its good contrast between light and dark values, and its interesting reflections, shapes, and colors.

Her heart and her art are happiest creating in her imaginative and illustrative style. Although she does love to create with colored pencils alone, she also enjoys mixing them with other mediums or trying them on unusual surfaces like copper and wood. Teaching is as rewarding as creating her art and she has led workshops in beginner colored pencil, character design, basic drawing skills and creativity.
