Using markers and colored pencils to enhance and create vivid and deeply lush colors

I liked this tutorial and was glad to see it. Using markers and colored pencils is a technique I’ve used in my classroom for quite a while. But it’s a technique not naturally arrived at if you are buying your media, as many students can afford only a limited amount of colored pencils and markers. I think the key is that this combination allows for inventing colors! That’s an awesome discovery.

Fabulous!!!

I can't express how much I am enjoying this In Depth Tutorial!!! I have always admired Mardell Schuster's talent and was thrilled to try the tutorial. I bought the required paper and markers...thought I'd burst before they got here. I have loved every bit of this process. I will post a picture when the piece is finished. I'm very happy with the progress so far. Recommend to everyone! Thanks Ann for sponsoring it and Mardell for taking the time to create it!

Great Technique!

I really love the talent of Mardell Schuster and couldn't wait to try out her technique on some favorite items of my own. The only difference for me is that I used Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor pencils throughout. I completed the attached work as an experiment in textures just to see how the marker/pencil combo would work in each. I began with the grapes and practically hyper-ventilated I was so excited with the result. It was really a fun adventure.
