Discover the anything-goes freedom of colored pencil on canvas board. 

Colored pencil doesn’t always have to mean endless layers, tiny details, and hours of careful rendering. In this fun, fast-paced Jelly Bean Class, Ann invites you to loosen up, experiment, and discover just how freeing it can be to work on canvas board.

During this 90-minute demo, Ann will show you how she works Fast, Loose & Fearless, often with just two or three layers. You’ll see her use colored pencil, PanPastels, marker, gel pen, a slice tool, and more, all on a surface that can handle a surprising amount of abuse.

The goal here isn’t to chase every feather or obsess over perfection. It’s to mix new materials, try new techniques, and see how much you can accomplish when you give yourself permission to stop overthinking every mark.

Come watch Ann play, experiment, and make a mess for 90 minutes. She’ll quickly demo several materials and techniques live, then you’ll watch videos together of her drawing a bright bluebird as she gives instruction along the way. After class, you can use the included video to follow along at your own pace and create your own bluebird using the same techniques.

What's a Jelly Bean Class?

Small, sweet and hard to stop at just one, Jelly Bean classes are our newest way to help you and your colored pencil life bloom. Each short, focused class is a mere 60 to 90 minutes, but you'll learn lessons you can use for a lifetime. Small projects or single topics that deserve a bit of delving into, Jelly Beans will enhance your skill set and knowledge base in a fun, quick fashion, all from the comfort of your own home. Scheduled on both weekdays and weekends, we hope to accommodate every schedule.

What you need to know:

• You'll receive an email with a link to download the "how to prepare" PDF that also includes the Zoom link to the classroom and instructions.
• On the day of the workshop, just before class begins, click on the Zoom link to enter the classroom.
• As Ann leads the workshop, you'll watch and learn, and please feel free to ask questions.
