Create Botanical Art that Leafs an Impression!

Leaves are such an important part of most botanical drawings. Even though they are often simpler in coloration than flowers, creating realistic veining and surface texture on leaves can be challenging. In this class, Amy will show you techniques for creating the proper values, hues, and intensity changes that make a leaf look like a leaf.

You'll Learn:
• Two different methods for creating veining.
• A simple, step-by-step strategy for creating value and modeling.
• To observe the differences created by underpainting with a grisaille layer as compared to a complement layer.

About Amy: Amy Lindenberger is the author of several colored pencil instruction books, including CP Surfaces:...
