Live with Oksana Burr, students will discover the advantages of using colored pencils on black paper to create striking visual effects she calls "sculpting with color". Through a guided, step-by-step approach, you will develop new skills and achieve glorious results rendering a blooming peony flower. This workshop presents a wonderful chance to “work in reverse” and elevate your artistic abilities. Plus, you'll be encouraged to share your artwork and receive constructive feedback.

You'll Learn:

• How to use just 16 pencils and still achieve realistic florals.
  
• One pencil value drawing process to serve as an underpainting.
• Techniques for working “in reverse” on a black surface to make your drawing pop.
• Plus, experience a day long interactive drawing session with fellow artists.

What you need to know:

• Immediately after registering, you'll receive an email with a link to download the "How to Prepare" PDF of instructions to prepare you for class. SAVE this PDF.
  
• On the day of the workshop, just before class begins, click on the link to enter the classroom.
• As Oksana demos in class, you'll follow along with the drawing.
• During the live workshop, feel free to ask Oksana questions.
• A video recording will be posted on Padlet within two days after class.

Requirements:

• Laptop, PC, Mac, tablet or iPad with speakers
• Printer (for printing line drawings and reference photos)
• Supplies (list also emailed after registration)

Pajama classes are better than books, better than tutorials and tons better than endlessly watching YouTube videos. Pajama Classes are live. You can ask questions. You get answers! And feedback! Wow! It’s almost like a real live workshop, only without having to pack and unpack all your supplies.

About Oksana: Originally from Russia, Oksana Burr is an award winning artist specializing in colored pencils, custom commissions and teaching locally. She's a member of CPSA, UKCPS, and other local art organizations. She loves to share her passion for art with others. Oksana is extremely friendly and dedicated to ensuring that every participant feels confident in their drawing skills while, most importantly, having fun. As English is her second language, her accent adds an interesting twist to the experience.
