Five gorgeous lessons you'll simply love to draw!
Amy Lindenberger has so many helpful tricks and tips up her sleeve and shares them all in generous detail. Moving from quickly established large shapes to smaller detailed shapes, Amy will show you how to be a much more efficient artist, without losing an iota of drama or realism.

Let Amy show you how much fun Pastelmat is to work on. It has more tooth than traditional cotton fiber papers and its surface allows colored pencils to quickly achieve maximum color saturation. Dreamy sunrises, shiny reflections, skin tones and puppy faces all come to life with ease on Pastelmat.

Enjoy broadening your repertoire by combining colored pencils with pan pastels, water-soluble pencils and powder blender. Each medium can enhance colored pencil and Pastelmat is a terrific surface for using all these and more.

My First Pastelmat Experience

The most impressive thing was the possibility to make light layers above the dark ones. Softness of edges is also good for such drawings as portraits. In addition you can use pastel as underpainting.

First try

I have tried this paper just now with coloured pencils, copied a pic of two dogs of one of your books. Of course I used wrong colour paper, but it a learning experience. So far I think it’s great can’t wait to do more now.

CP Surfaces: Pastelmat

I think the author explains everything very well. But I was using Colourfix and then Uart for texture. Now I am going back to non textured surfaces so I won’t be using pastel mat . I might in the future.
