About Amy:
Amy studied English and art history at University. After graduating, she trained to be a secondary school art teacher and has been teaching art and photography for 10 years. Her love of the natural world and the outdoors is reflected in her work. She has exhibited pieces throughout the UK and has recently illustrated children’s stories based on her local area.

Sweet Ragdoll kitty

This is my second drawing class with Amy, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. She is engaging and makes it easy to follow along with her. The tutorial was well thought out and well illustrated. The class was well-paced, and included breaks. I liked that the class was over two days. She provides helpful commentary if you post your drawing on Padlet. I love cats, and enjoy drawing them, and Rocco is a beautiful subject. My first class with Amy was Bobbins, her short-haired cat, and Rocco has long fur, much of it white, so I learned new techniques this time. And the blurred background made for an interesting challenge. I would definitely take a class with Amy again!

Teaching is as rewarding as creating her art and she has led workshops in beginner colored pencil, character design, basic drawing skills and creativity.
