About the Featured Artists:
Catherine Frey Murphy:
Catherine Frey Murphy has always loved to draw. She worked in graphite and ink for years before discovering the magic of colored pencil. She enjoys creating portraits that catch moments and tell stories. Her drawings have won international awards. She is a member of the CPSA and the UKCPS.
Kathy Lally:
Kathy Lally's artistic journey has taken her from 30 years as a middle school art teacher to a focus on perfecting her color pencil techniques and creating commissioned pieces. When she's not in her studio, she enjoys time in the garden and tap dancing.
Linda Lucas Hardy:
Linda was introduced to CP in the late 80's but it wasn't until 93' that they captured her imagination. It wasn’t however until 2000, when she visited Italy, that she realized she was not getting any younger. If her lifelong dream of being an artist were ever to happen, it had to happen right then.
Lis Zadravec:
After drawing with colored pencils for 45 years and teaching for 30, Lis' aim is for her artwork to look like paintings. Portraiture is Lis' obsession, person or animal, and she strives to capture the deep connections, emotions, struggles, and relationships. Embracing nature’s cycles without sentimentality.
