THE BOOK WAS EXCELLENT AND EASY TO FOLLOW.
I am yet to use the book. A quick review reveals that the artists have used different surfaces - to give a feel on creating it on different types of papers - which is verymuch limiting for an user like me with availability and also to establish myself on a good dependent surface. The cache is - how will it fare on the regular Bristol or Vellum surface of Strathamore or Canson.. Need to try to experience....
This was a rare book for me. Colored pencils is an underrated medium, which none the less is pretty powerful and subtle at the same time. Your book allows to discover the step by step process the artists use and their philosophy of seeing. Drawing being seing before anything else. I was attracted by one specific artist and able to discover others. Also the detail and quality of your publication makes it all the more worthwhile. I strongly recommend !
After all my years as a painter, I fell in love with pencil. I'm now a pencil artist mainly animals. I have worked with the color pencils up close and detailed. Now I want to do animals in their natural habitat & realized I have never in all my years done a landscape. This book has been a huge help with color choices, textures, values & technique. I'm still experimenting & love it.
I loved this book. I had been avoiding landscapes like the plague because they seemed so daunting to do in colored pencil. After reading through the lessons and advice, I started my first landscape. This book inspired me to draw what I love. I have gained so much information from the different artists that I am sure this will be my go-to reference for landscapes drawings. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
