About Scott:
Scott is an artist and teacher living in Minnesota. He has taught high school art for over 30 years and adult workshops around the country and online for 6 years. He is a signature member of CPSA and has won numerous awards both nationally and internationally.
I enjoy Scott’s easy, efficient teaching style and that, along with this beautiful composition, resulted in a masters class for creating rocks and water flow! By the end of the first day we were on the big, beautiful, blue Stand Out rock. My goals were definitely achieved:- Learning more about Canson Mi-Teintes smooth side and why it is a preferred surface.- Scott’s very easy, logical approach to each rock.- How to incorporate colorless blenders/burnishers into the process as we moved from rock to rock.Great workshop!
Scott is an awesome instructor. Scott explains things very well, is fun to listen to, and is helpful answering questions. I highly recommend Scott as an instructor and hope to take more workshops with him. If you have the opportunity to study with him, don't hesitate!!!
This is my second live video lesson with your organisation which I thoroughly enjoyed and learnt such a lot. Scott is a lovely teacher who broke this complicated picture down into achievable steps. I am quite new to cp art but am really pleased with my picture so far. I especially liked how he had cards showing which colour pencil he was using at the time. Really useful. I'm in the UK but luckily the timing worked for me. Hoping to do more lessons with you in the future. Many Thanks Scott.
I love Scotts teaching, he is such a kind and supportive person. The subjects are well chosen and I could not get such a lovely result without his help (workbooks are ok, do not get me wrong, but watching the artist actually doing it is still a big difference. I think I was taking part in all of his workshops here with Ann and her lovely team and I can recommend them all (scratching art or CP art, both a great experience)
Overall rating is the highest you can achieve. Love Scott’s classes. The subject matter is diverse. We learn techniques that translate to other subject matters. Who Knew that drawing rocks could be so challenging and rewarding. As a teacher, Scott is knowledgeable and available to answer questions, help by giving positive feedback and comments to help the student improve. This is probably the fifth class I have taken with Scott. I am always checking the class schedule looking for his name. If you want to learn colored pencils, Scott is the teacher for you.
