Ann Kullberg's Class: We'll work on a baby girl portrait project, on Stonehenge paper, emphasizing eyes, soft skin tones and simplified hair, using Ann's portrait palette and vertical line technique.

Amy Lindenberger: We will work on a close-up facial view of a tiger on dark brown paper using a dark-to-light color layering technique that begins with an application of black colored pencil in the darkest areas. We then move gradually through progressively lighter-valued colors to white. The dark brown paper provides the contrast to make the colors pop and also cuts work time significantly. This technique is featured in CP Surfaces Volume IV: A Complete Guide to Using Colored Pencils on Colored Paper.

Cynthia Knox: We will work on a new still life project from “Contemporary Still Life in Colored Pencil” to be published by Ann Kullberg in the near future.  Blending and burnishing techniques will be employed to create an elaborate, elegant cupcake for personalized birthday cards.  And who knows what might show up during our afternoon break?

Why do we have so many repeat-cruisers on our Colored Pencil Workshop Cruises??

Because they are heaven on earth for CP artists! Loads of fun, gorgeous ships, fantastic views, great food, new friends, lots of laughs...all topped off by wonderful instruction from master colored pencil artists.

happy workshop participants
"The group was so much fun and you and the other instructors were the best. It was such a thrill to meet all of you and to see how you create such wonderful pieces of art with your pencils. I will keep an eye on when you are having your next cruise and see if I will be able to hop on board again. I will never forget this cruise and you...especially your laugh. You and your great sense of humor is one of the things that helped pull the class together. Thanks for everything you did to make this great experience happen."
- Louann Stark

Just a note to tell you how much I enjoyed the cruise!! It was my first cruise and I loved the classes and took away many ideas for the future on my art projects. The cruise was absolutely perfect and I hope sometime in the future to do another. And Thanks for finding me a room-mate for the cruise -- it worked out wonderfully!! - Jean White

Denise Howard

Ann Kullberg's Class: We'll work on a baby girl portrait project, on Stonehenge paper, emphasizing eyes and soft skin tones and simplified hair, using Ann's portrait palette and vertical line technique.

Denise Howard: International award-winning artist Denise Howard will teach a beautiful monarch butterfly on Stonehenge paper, focusing on how to create a soft, blurry background as well as the roughness of tree bark, the furriness of moss, and the delicate features of butterfly wings that you may not have noticed before.

Jesse Lane: Jesse Lane will be teaching how to use many colors to create rich, realistic skin-tones as well as water on skin.  Jesse received an award for exceptional merit at CPSA's 2015 international convention for his drawing, "Gravity," using these techniques.

Dear Ann,
Just a note to tell you again how much I learned and enjoyed the cruise.
The work shops were very well done and all of you added so much to my knowledge that it blew my mind when I got home and looked at my previous work. Everything not already framed is getting re-worked. I thought I knew how to do eyes and mouths - not so. I thought I burnished adequately - but not even close. My next project will be on sanded paper to see if I can get proficient there. I really feel good about where I am going now, thanks to all three of you. Looking forward to staying in touch and learning more.
Regards, Tony Mauro

Cruiselines are like airlines - as the cruise ship fills, the cabin prices go up and up.  We have a limited number of cabins reserved for our workshop cruises, so we can only hold the price until those reserved cabins are used up.  Long story short?  Call today to put down a deposit to hold the above quoted price for this workshop cruise! 1-800-253-0116
