Lisa Ann Watkins US Workshop Tour


From the UK to the USA! Lisa Ann Watkins is a multiple award-winning colored pencil artist best known for her hyper-realistic pet and wildlife portraits. 

A graduate of Cheltenham College of Art, Lisa uses her exhibitions and artwork to raise funds for charities and promote awareness, and NOW, she is finally making her way to the United States to teach for the very first time! 

She is unlikely to cross the pond again in the near future, so take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from the master CP artist Lisa Ann Watkins.

2-Day Workshop:
• Make your watercolor pencils sing with Lisa's "less is more" approach.
• Gain hands-on experience with Pastelmat (paper provided).
• Learn to see underlying colors in reference photos.
• Gain confidence in rendering fur, eyes and noses.
• Master what makes Lisa's artwork so special: capturing character.

Day 1: Create undertones using watercolor pencil and water to  build the foundation for adding the dry fur layers.
Day 2: Learn how to build the many layers of pencil to create believable fur texture.
Experienced pencil artists, forget everything you have learned previously as my method works from dark to light, back to dark & up to light again! The final stages of the drawing will see us adding different textures needed for the long fur on the ears and the soft fur around the muzzle, balancing the highlights & shadows. Last, you'll learn how to use a knife to add even more texture to the overall piece!
