Australia/New Zealand Tour


Tour Highlights: November 9th - 20th, 2018

To arrive on the 9th, leave the US on the 7th.

Melbourne- 3 days/nights

Visit Melbourne, the "sporting and cultural capital of Australia." 

Enjoy the "Great Ocean Road" tour from Melbourne along Australia's spectacular coastline.

New Zealand's South Island- 3 days/2 nights

We'll stop next in Christchurch, on New Zealand's picturesque South Island. 
Just up the coast, we'll visit the rocky peninsula of Kaikoura, a hotspot for Whale Watching in the famous Marlborough region. 
Experience one of the most iconic and beautiful ferry cruises in the world aboard the Interislander Ferry across the Cook Strait, connecting the two islands.

New Zealand's North Island - 6 days/nights

Enjoy our private guided tour from Wellington, NZ's "Creative Capital" and home to the National Museum of New Zealand.

Our tour will continue with visits to Rotorua, known shooting geysers and natural hot springs, as well as fascinating Maori culture.

Next will be visits to Lord of the Rings' Hobbiton Movie set, the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, and much more.


Tour Cost:

Around $2,500 USD (final cost TBD), not including airfare to Melbourne or from Auckland, and not including lunches or dinners.

Cost includes: ALL hotel accommodations (double occupancy), Ocean bus tour from Melbourne, Flight from Melbourne to Christchurch, Transportation on South Island, InsterIslander Ferry, Private coach tour of NZ North Island and more.

The cost of this tour does NOT cover lunches, dinners, airfare, Ann's workshop or other optional attractions. These expenses are separate from the tour.



Getting to Melbourne: Fly one-way in to Melbourne International Airport in Australia (MEL). Red-eye flights leaving the evening of Wednesday, November  7th get you to Melbourne the morning of the Friday the 9th with the time change. Direct flights to Melbourne leave out of San Francisco (SFO) or Los Angeles (LAX). Flights run around $1,000 USD. Qantas recommended.

Returning from Auckland: Fly one-way out of Auckland International Airport in New Zealand (AKL). Red-eye flights leaving the evening of Tuesday, November 20th get you to the West Coast the morning of the 20th with the time changes. Direct flights from Aukland arrive in San Francisco (SFO) or Los Angeles (LAX). Flights run around $650 USD. American or Air New Zealand recommended.



All accommodations are included in the tour cost. We aim for 3-star or better whenever possible. Pricing is based on double-occupancy rooms. Bedding type may vary depending on availability, but we will make every effort to accommodate your requests!

What to Pack:

Layers. We will visit a variety of landscapes and elevations. Weather will vary. November is early summer in New Zealand with temperatures averaging in the 50s and 60s.
A good waterproof jacket. There will be boat trips and rain is common in some areas.
Good walking shoes.
Sunglasses, hats and sunscreen. New Zealand has a much higher UV index than the US. Sun protection is needed even on overcast days.
A Power Adapter. Such as these.
