annkullberg.com began as an idea in the fall of 1999. after Colored Pencil Portraits Step by Step was published, I began receiving "fan email" from all over the world. I saved each email, having no idea what I might do with them until deb from texas asked if I could give her online lessons. the idea of a colored pencil magazine was born. I sent an inquiry to the 200+ artists whose email i'd kept and in 3 weeks had over 50 subscription checks in my mailbox. thus began From My Perspective!
terrified about having committed to a website when I didn't know the first thing about web-design, I bought two books about website development, and plunged ahead. From My Perspective has come a long way since it's first issue in december, 1999, with added features and improved design. we're now in our 8th year! once FMP was in full swing, our line of Colored Pencil Instruction Kits was born. our first three kits were so popular that we now sell 24 kits created by 9 prominent colored pencil artists. |
the popularity of the kits led us down a new path.video instruction! we didn't have a clue to begin with, and the learning curve seemed overwhelming at the start, but with lots of help from our technical director, we produced our first video workshop, Soft Realism --Come Alive! next came our very popular Portrait Tool Set and our newest product - DRAW what you See....a complete drawing course.
my latest venture is my new blog, which i'm having a great time with!
so...starting with a simple colored pencil magazine, annkullberg . com has grown in ways I couldn't have imagined, but I couldn't possibly do it without help... |
